Ai Gaggi, Holiday Camping on the Farm is located in the splendid Val di Sole (Sun Valley) in Trentino which is a green oasis surrounded by the grand mountain ranges of Ortles-Cevedale, Adamello, Brenta, Presanella and Maddalene.
The valley, as called in dialect, counts fifty villages and a population of 1500 which animates villages and resorts with hospitality throughout the year.
Choosing your vacation in Val di Sole (Sun Valley) means plunging into nature with the possibility to practice numerous winter sports (downhill, nordic, or cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, snow-boarding, skating, etc.) and the possiblility to choose from a variety of summer activities too.
You may just want to relax and discover the silence of the woods, and experience the magic of being overtaken by the beauty of the landscape.
If you find it hard to sit still, many hours may be spent in our thick woods searching for mushrooms, picking wild strawberries, blueberries, hiking,or mountain climbing in Stelvio National Park or in Adamello-Brenta Natural Park. All this can be done on horseback, mountain bike or just by foot. You may choose to be accompanied by an expert apline guide or do it all by yourself.
If your looking for more excitement, you can go rafting or canoeing along the river Noce, hand-gliding, orienteering or participate in many other sports that the various nearby centers offer, such as swimming in the numerous public swimming pools or in the countless mountain lakes, some of which consent fishing as well.
The nearby Equitation Center (Horseback riding) organizes many different excusions on horseback and riding lessons all year round.
How about a game of tennis? There are excellent structures along the valley to satisfy a fantastic game of tennis or golf.
..If it rains
In case of bad weather, the valley offers various tours such as at the local dairy factory of Mezzana, where you can witness the processing of fresh milk from the local farms being turned into cheese (Casolet nostrano e Trentingrana).
You can taste Trentino’s famous apples called Melinda and other products at the apple storehouse at Segno di Taio. There are numerous wine cellars that can be visited throughout the Adige valley and the sparkling wine cellar of Rotari in Mezzocorona offers an interesting tour as well.
You must not miss Thermal Baths of Rabbi and Pejo, the magnificent sanctuary of Saint Romedio, the spectacular view of Rio Sass canyon of Fondo, the charming lake of Tovel (whos waters turned red until 1960), and the numerous castles found throughout the valley.
Trento, the capital of the province is proud of its roman origins and offers countless cultural testimonies (museums, castles,etc.) as does Rovereto which has recently inaugurated Mart, the museum of modern and contemporary art.
